Climbing Bear Road From Rockyford Road, you will turn onto rustic Bear Road. Regardless of the name, you probably won't see any bears as they have moved further up into the Coast range, but you will want to watch out for the deer and other wild life. They are our neighbors and we would appreciate it if you drove slowly. Once on the road, you will climb almost 1000 feet in less than a mile. After a jog, a guest once commented, "It may be a mile down, but it's 10 miles back up!" As you wind up the road, the view will change. In the photo we are looking behind us. |

If you have reserved your visit in the spring, you may ascend through our blossoming Thundercloud plum trees. Our garden and orchard is on your right. You will know you have arrived when you come upon our koi pond. Listen for a welcoming chorus of frogs. |

The Friendly Fish Pond The pond at the front entry is a thoroughly relaxing experience. The waterfall creates a soothing effect, while the frogs are enigmatic. We have named them all "Waldo" because your ears will confirm their presence, but they certainly know how to blend into their surroundings! If they are in the mood, our fish will eat from your hand. Do remember these are country fish, so you might want to watch your fingers. |
Forest Grotto The trail to the North from the front entry leads to a hidden grotto in the forest. The large ferns and mossy trees make this a special place with a timeless mystical quality all its own. |

The Forest Other trails from the house lead to beautiful meadows surrounded by lush forest. If you are so inclined, we invite you to explore the grounds and enjoy the wildlife. Experience the natural tranquility of this enchanted forest. |
